Follow along as the Nationals look to return to their winning ways this afternoon
The Nationals five game winning streak was snapped last night as the offense went cold in a shutout loss. However, the Nats have a chance to redeem themselves this afternoon and return to winning ways.
The ever dependable Jake Irvin will take the mound, looking to get the Nats back in this series with the Giants. With a southpaw on the mound for the Giants, the Nats lineup will have a slightly different look. Amed Rosario will hit second and play third base. James Wood will move to DH, meaning Alex Call will play left field. Keibert Ruiz will stay behind the plate, continuing his heavy usage this season. Daylen Lile and Robert Hassell III will stay in the lineup.

With a righty for the Nats, the Giants have a bit of a different look too. Mike Yastrzemski will lead off today. Platoon savant Lamonte Wade Jr. will also get the call at first base. However, the Giants are not platooning as much as they have in the past, with a lot of the lineup staying unchanged. With Justin Verlander going to the IL, Kyle Harrison will move from the bullpen into the rotation. It will be interesting to see how far the left hander will go in the game.

Hopefully the offense can kick it back into gear and prove last night was a fluke. It will be important to jump on the Giants early and avoid their lights out A bullpen. Let’s get this curly W in the books.
