Here’s a roundup of high school varsity action on Monday, March 31.

Softball

Havre de Grace 1, Rising Sun 0: Scoreless into the eighth inning, the Warriors ended the stalemate when Sarah Weitzel drove in Dayley Veres in the top half of the inning. Lily Dalton shut the door on the Tigers in the bottom half. She threw a complete-game, five-hitter, striking out six.

Bel Air 12, Aberdeen 0: Sofia Gallahue struck out 10 in four shutout innings, allowing just two hits. Offensively for the Bobcats, Gallahue, Leah McGivern and Lizzy Zarsona all drove in runs in the game.

Dulaney 12, Maryvale Prep 0: Rayna Harpster threw a five-inning one-hitter with six strikeouts to lead Dulaney. Chloe Renaldo led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Brynn Townsend drove in two runs in the win. Avery Remeto, Kimani Dennis and Harpster all added RBIs.

Dundalk 13, Patapsco 1: The Owls improve to 3-1 behind Leiliani Ganzermiller’s three-hitter. She struck out 10 in five innings. Makayla Woods tripled and drove in three runs. Justice Smith had two hits and two RBIs. Carlie Locklear, Julie Berger and Ganzermiller all drove in runs.

Hereford 28, Lansdowne 7: The Bulls trailed 4-2 after an inning, but turned it around with nine second-inning runs. Aly Wegryzn went 4-for-5 and drove in two runs in the win. Morgan Hall finished the day with four RBIs. Also for the Bulls, Laurent Clement had two hits and three RBIs, while Morgan Ford and Ellie Lanford each drove in two runs.

Marriotts Ridge 14, Guilford Park 0 (5 inn.): The Mustangs (5-1, 2-0 Summit Division) burst out of the gates quickly with seven first-inning runs. Mackenzie Tasch led the offense from the leadoff spot going 4-for-4 with five RBIs. Reagan Pakulla produced at the bottom of the lineup with two hits and three RBIs, while Olivia Ober also had four hits and two RBIs. Leah Kim earned her first varsity win with four scoreless innings and five strikeouts.

Coed tennis

Fallston 11, Joppatowne 0: The Cougars dropped just seven combined games in the match. Boys singles swept with Gordon Lefkowitz, Ethan LeMone and Edison Lu all winning by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Lexi Rapo and Maddie Kelly did the same in girls singles, as did doubles teams of Zach Boczar and Luca Cangelosi, Kasey Resh and Ashley Tran, and Alex Kegan and Avery Mendoza. Also for Fallston, Gwen Karantonis won at first girls singles and Careina Rowe and Brynn Seymour won second girls doubles.

Boys tennis

Marriotts Ridge 5, Guilford Park 0: Tyler Wang and Ayan Shankar had dominant 8-0 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Marriotts Ridge’s doubles pairings of Sai Anuj Chodavarapu and Peniel Kim, Jerry Han and Alex Xiang, and Jason Hu and Anuj Nadkarni all won their matches.

Girls tennis

Marriotts Ridge girls 5, Guilford Park 0: Erika Kang and Sana Huda won 8-1 and 8-2 at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. The doubles pairings of Aditi Gandhe and Kaylee Sinn, Eunice Lee and Mahika Juneja, and Elaine Choi and Allison Chan each won.
