Jackson Holliday walked three times and stole a pair of bags for the Tides. Austin Hays continued his rehab, and Bowie pitched a shutout.
Triple-A: Memphis Redbirds (Cardinals) 3, Norfolk Tides 2
The Tides were a strike away from forcing extra innings when former Orioles prospect César Prieto managed a Baltimore chop to short. Prieto beat out the infield single, and the winning run scored from third. Forty-man roster occupant Matt Krook took the loss.
Chayce McDermott started and allowed a pair of runs over five innings. McDermott struck out eight and only walked one batter. Both runs came via solo homer, with the second stemming from the bat of a rehabbing Matt Carpenter.
Daniel Johnson took a walk with the bases loaded to get Norfolk on the board in the third. Coby Mayo lined out in the seventh, but Jackson Holliday scored after a throwing error by Memphis.
Holliday finished 0-for-2 with three walks. He scored both of Norfolk’s runs and stole a pair of bases on consecutive pitches. Mayo finished 0-for-5, and Connor Norby went 1-for-4 with a walk.

Double-A: Bowie Baysox 2, Akron RubberDucks 0
Trace Bright worked the first 4.1 innings of Bowie’s shutout victory. Bright allowed three hits, walked a pair and struck out five. Dylan Heid, Houston Roth and Ryan Watson combined to allow only one hit with six strikeouts in relief.
Jud Fabian provided Bowie an early lead with a sacrifice fly in the first. Fabian, Dylan Beavers, Samuel Basallo and the rest of the gang should benefit from their time spent around a rehabbing Austin Hays. The 2023 All Star finished 1-for-3 with a hit and a run scored.
Beavers reached base three times with a single, double and a walk. Beavers plated Hays for the second run with an RBI double in the third.
High-A: Aberdeen IronBirds 9, Hudson Valley Renegades (Yankees) 2
Aberdeen notched the only big offensive night across the Orioles’ farm. The IronBirds took the lead with a four-run fourth inning and slowly tacked on throughout the night. Tavian Josenberger struck first with a solo homer. Elio Prado followed with a two-run single, and Hudson Valley allowed the fourth run on a wild pitch.
The IronBirds ran on Hudson Valley all night and finished 6-of-9 on stolen bases. Enrique Bradfield Jr. stole third and trotted home on a throwing error for the fifth run of the game. Bradfield finished 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.
Prado and Josenberger both recorded two-hit games with Douglas Hodo III adding the only other knock for Aberdeen. Matthew Etzel took a pair of walks and scored twice.
Bradley Brehmer earned the win by recording 2.2 innings of scoreless relief.
Low-A: Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (White Sox) 7, Delmarva Shorebirds 4
Delmarva trailed 5-1 after three and failed to dig out of the hole. Four hitters accounted for all eight of Delmarva’s hits. Aaron Estrada led the way with a 3-for-4 effort. Noelberth Romero double and slapped a two-run home run. Angel Tejada recorded a pair of singles, and Thomas Sosa finished 1-for-5 from the leadoff spot.
