Happy Tuesday, Camden Chatters! For those of you who had a long weekend, I hope it was restful and fun. For those of you who had to work, I hope it wasn’t too bad.
The Orioles came home from their series win in New York to face a bad team, the Kansas City Royals. Of course, they are still a bad team that has 19 more wins than the Orioles. It looked like the Orioles might end the day with a three-game win streak, but Cole Sulser couldn’t hold the lead and the Royals came back in the eighth inning to give the Orioles the loss. The Orioles now have 26 games left. Is there anything you’re rooting for over the final stretch? I know there isn’t much. It will be interesting to see if Keegan Akin or Zac Lowther can show anything over their final appearance. But it seems like the thing to root for is for Cedric Mullins to join the 30/30 club.
Mullins hit his 26th home run of the year in yesterday’s loss, and he has 26 stolen bases to go along with it. He just needs four more of each to be the first Oriole to reach that mark. It seems like it could happen. And what else do we have to look forward to?

Is today your birthday? Happy birthday! You have quite a few Orioles birthday buddies, including pitcher Dusten Knight (31) who was just optioned back to Triple-A Norfolk yesterday. Way harsh, Orioles!
It’s also the birthday of utility man extraordinaire David Newhan (48), 2000 three gamer Willie Morales (49), Wade Rowdon (61), Orlando Sánchez (65), and Tommy Matchick (78).
On this day in 1996, Mike Mussina shut out the Tigers. That doesn’t seem that remarkable except for the fact that it was they team’s first shutout of the season. In game 142. That was a playoff team! The 2021 Orioles did that in the first game of the year!
In 2018, the Orioles lost their 100th game of the year. That was sad.
