President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society included key policies such as federal aid for education, Medicare for older Americans and the Medicaid health program for low-income citizens. These initiatives aimed to improve education and health care access (“Takeaways as Congress sends tax and spending cuts bill to Trump’s desk,” July 3).
I hope you remember LBJ and his policies. I hope they stay in your memories so you can tell your children and grandchildren what America used to be like. The odds are 218-214 that you’ll remember.
