No Charles and possibly no Delle Donne means everybody needs to step up big time.
The Washington Mystics (10-15) are facing the Connecticut Sun (20-6) tonight at 7 p.m. ET for the third time this season. Washington has yet to pull off a win against the number 1 team in league standings. The game will be available on NBA TV, NBC Sports Washington, and NESN+.
The Mystics are coming off a 76-75 win against the Dallas Wings. In that game, Natasha Cloud had a season-high 21 points, which all came in the second half to help propel her team after being down. The Mystics are going to rely heavily on Cloud and Myisha Hines-Allen, who followed with 15 points, and Ariel Atkins, who went scoreless in Saturday’s game.
Elena Delle Donne, who made a brief comeback recently after sitting out since 2019, is listed as questionable. The two-time WNBA MVP sat out last game. Washington will be without Tina Charles, who is recovering from a left gluteal strain.
This will be the Mystics final chance to beat the Sun in the regular season.
