For seemingly the first time in the 21st century, the New York Knicks will enter a new season with championship expectations.
Basketball Hall of Famer and former Knicks star Carmelo Anthony made those expectations clear: it will be a championship or bust season in New York.
“They’ve been primed for this position the past 3-4 years,” he said at an NBC event promoting the start of the 2025-26 season. “They have everything that you could possibly need. They have a winning formula.”
Anthony will serve as an analyst for NBC’s NBA coverage this season alongside other former players Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter.
New York made their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 25 years last season before being eliminated by the Indiana Pacers.
McGrady and Carter predict the Cavaliers to come out of the Eastern Conference over New York.
