AWARDS

Micah Peavy was named to the All-Big East First team earlier this week. Peavy, who averaged 16.9 ppg and a conference best 2.3 steals per game, became the first Hoya to do so since Jessie Govan in 2018-19. Thomas Sorber (14.5 ppg, 8.5 rpg) earned two distinctions by being placed on the All-Big East Third Team as well as being a unanimous selection on the All Freshman team.

TOURNAMENT TALK

Georgetown, who is tied with UConn with the most conference championships with eight, is trying to snap a 3-game losing streak in the league tournament since cutting down the nets in 2021. After sweeping the Hoyas, DePaul is attempting to beat a Big East team three times in the same season for the first time in program history. The only path to the NCAA Tournament for both Georgetown and DePaul is to win the conference tournament. Georgetown, however, is likely to play in either the NIT or the Crown.
