Washington has landed a commitment from an in-state target, in Brandon Roy Jr, he announced on Instagram. Roy Jr. is the son of three-time NBA All-Star Brandon Roy, who also spent his college career playing for the Huskies.
A senior at Garfield High School (WA), Roy Jr. spent his high school career playing for his father, who has been the head coach at his alma mater since 2017. He is Washington’s 13th addition from this offseason and is set to fill its final remaining roster spot.
Roy Jr. joins JJ Mandaquit, Jason Rencher, Courtland Muldrew and Mady Traore to round out Washington’s high school recruiting class. The Huskies are also set to bring in seven transfers, with that class being headlined by Desmond Claude (USC) and Wesley Yates III (USC).
