Chinese small forward Boyuan Zhang of Veritas Prep (CA) visited Illinois this week and has two other visits in the works.
The 6-foot-7 Class of 2026 prospect will trip to California Jan. 12-14 and is also planning a visit to Minnesota, per Veritas coach George Zedan.
“He’s a Top-30 type talent,” Zedan said. “If he was American, he’s easily a 5 -star kid. So much talent and competitiveness.”
He’s currently rated a 3-star by 247Sports.com.
As for his visit to illinois, Zhang told Carson Gourdie of Fox Illinois: “[They] have a lot of Chinese people here. Very friendly, very cool here,”
Asked about his offensive game, he added: “I can shoot the ball really well and I can attack the rim and share the ball.”
