Coaches flocking to see Archbishop Stepinac twins Adonis & Darius Ratliff

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — A steady stream of high-major Division 1 coaches has been flocking to Archbishop Stepinac High School to see twins Adonis and Darius Ratliff, the 7-foot twin sons of former NBA forward Theo Ratliff.

Alabama head coach Nate Oats and assistant Preston Murphy and Pitt head coach Jeff Capel and assistant Tim O’Toole pulled up to the gym on Wednesday, and Arkansas head coach John Calipari is expected next week after assistant Chuck Martin was in this week.

Assistants from Creighton, Florida and Oklahoma State were also in on Wednesday.

“It’s what you dream of as a kid, playing in front of coaches, [the] recruiting process and geting ready to go to college in a year,” 6-foot-11 Adonis Ratliff, the No. 10 power forward in the Class of 2026 per 247Sports.com, told ZAGSBLOG after an open gym. “It’s a blessing.”

Alabama is putting the full court press on the twins, who say they remain wide open in their recruitment.

“Yeah, wide open,” Adonis said. “Just keeping an open mind, talking to different schools.

Adonis then broke down several schools:

Alabama: “They’re recruiting hard. They want us to go to the school and just want us to be part of their team. They let their bigs play like a big guard position, make reads or pick and pop into a DHO or hitting a slip or hitting the back door cut, so even bringing the ball up. So it’s just a play style, like everyone [can] be a big guard.

Creighton: “Also recruiting hard. They want me to come in and make a big impact as a freshmen. And kind of help the team make a run for the [NCAA] Championship. They just came in contact recently. It’s cool to hear from them.”

Oklahoma State: “Kind of the same thing. Want for us to come in, me and my brother [and] make an impact. Play versatile positions, shoot the ball, play defense, switch on screens, come off pick-and-rolls.”

Florida: “They’re kind of knew, I watched a lot of their games because they were in the [NCAA] championship, got to see them play. I like how they play their bigs, kind of like as guards. They make decisions too, and they also shoot 3’s.

Pittsburgh: “I like how they came in early on my recruitment. They were one of the high-major teams that first came and the first high major offers that I got, so it’s just a good relationship with them, and they show a lot of love.”

Arkansas: “The assistant coach has been up and down here, been to a couple of open games, kind of saying the same thing. Just play versatile positions, and then just make an impact as a freshman.”

As for whether the twins definitely want to attend the same school, Adonis said, “Yeah, it’s a chance that we wouldn’t, but we don’t mind playing together. Just really, whatever school is the best option, best fit for us to go to.”

When do they envision committing?

“”Imma just commit when I feel I know where where home is at,” Adonis said. “I’m not gonna rush into it, so that’s pretty much it.”
