While Tennessee and Dayton have been steady presences throughout his recruitment process, 6-foot-11 Class of 2026 big Cody Peck of Davidson Day (NC) continues to hear from three high level programs consistently.
Creighton head coach Greg McDermott was recently in at game to see Peck, a four-star recruit who is known for his versatility and defensive prowess.
A menacing rim protector with an adeptness for changing floors, Peck has also been hearing from Indiana and Oregon.
“Coach McDermott, he actually came for the one game we’ve lost so far, (at Davidson Day),” Peck said.
“He was just saying he loved the resilience we showed as a team. He felt I had a good game and told me he really likes the way I run the floor. I think a program like Creighton can really develop me.”
Oregon, which recently signed a five-star recruit in Tahj Ariza, has also emerged into steady presence in the process for Peck.
“I definitely appreciate the attention and the love (Oregon) has been showing,” Peck said.
“I’ve been speaking with (assistant) coach Yasir (Rosemond). He came to a game recently, he told me he loved what he saw.”
Indiana, of course, intrigues Peck with its regal history as a tradition-rich basketball school.
“They seem like a really hungry program right now,” Peck said of the Hoosiers.
“They want to rebuild the culture and get it back to where it once was.”
