Iona transfer Adam Njie is on the move.
The 6-foot-2 freshman guard from The Bronx, N.Y. is headed to Dayton, he told ZAGSBLOG.
“I chose Dayton because of play style and the opportunity for me to grow while taking my game to the next level,” he said. “I will bring my leadership, my playmaking ability and my swagger.”
Njie averaged 12.4 points, 4.2 assists and 2.8 rebounds as a freshman at Iona while shooting 41% from the field and 29% from deep.
“Adam is as skilled an offensive player as we have had at Hayes during my 20-year tenure,” said Cardinal Hayes head coach Joe Lods. “He will make an immediate impact for Coach [Anthony] Grant and the Flyers. They got a terrific player and teammate.”
Njie joins De’Shayne Montgomery, a 6-foot-4 sophomore guard who played his first two seasons at Mount St. Mary’s and Georgia, and 6-6 Rutgers transfer Jordan Derkack as portal additions at Dayton.
