Five-star Missouri commit Jason Crowe Jr. draws Trae Young comparisons at Hoophall Classic

Dennis Gates and Missouri have a Top-10recruiting class, and it is headlined by five-star guard Jason Crowe Jr.

Crowe is a 6-foot-3 senior at Inglewood HS (CA) and recorded a record 48 points at the Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass. on Sunday, leading to a Trae Young comparison from Jonathan Givony. With 247Sports’ Adam Finkelstein calling him “one of the most prolific scorers in high school basketball,” Crowe’s sheer scoring ability made him a hot commodity in the class of 2026.

Crowe’s 48-point outburst helped lead his team to an 81-80 win against Notre Dame HS (CT), who was led by a future SEC opponent of Crowe’s, in Arkansas commit Abdou Toure.

In 24 games for Inglewood this season, Crowe is averaging 44.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.

ZAGSBLOG spoke with Crowe’s father, Jason Crowe Sr., about his skillset and development from being a park prodigy turned high school star.

“He’s not just a scorer, he’s a creator,” Crowe Sr. said. “We look at the scoring, but we don’t look at the creation. I watched his passing video from the EYBL last session. I don’t think you’re going to find a player in high school who can pass and make these reads that he makes… You got to go to the pros to beat that. You have to get to great NBA players to top that right now. I just think his desire to win is so high and he has a combination of skill, conditioning and will. And I think that’s why he’s at the top. He has the skills, but he was the will and the conditioning to come out there and display that.”

Crowe Jr. drew interest from many of the high-level programs in America, but seems to have found a home in Columbia with Missouri, who currently have the No. 6 overall recruiting class in the nation.
