The No. 1 point guard in the nation, Tay Kinney, canceled two officials visits to Texas and Miami, 247Sports’ Travis Branham announced on Sunday.
Kinney was scheduled to visit Texas on September 12 and Miami on September 19, but will no longer visit the two programs. He is fresh off a visit to Oregon this weekend and also recently concluded visits to Kansas and Indiana. Kinney is still planning to visit Arkansas on September 26.
The 6-foot-2 guard has quickly become one of the most coveted recruits in the class of 2026 and has been recruited strongly by all the schools still involved.
“I speak with (Assistant Coach/Director Of On-Court Player Development) Brad (Calipari) and coach (Chuck) Martin often. They’ve told me that they just let their guards loose…With Coach Cal, he has a great record of sending players to the league,” Kinney said about Arkansas.
As of September 7, Kinney is still considering Louisville, Texas, Oregon, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Miami and Arkansas.
He has not yet announced an official timeline for his recruitment.
