COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — Class of 2026 small forward Cameron Holmes was invited to Team USA U19 Training Camp in Colorado Springs. Playing an hour down the road from where his brother, Daron II plays with the Nuggets, Holmes talked about his upcoming visits and the advice his brother has given him.
“You have got to be ready,” said Cameron of Daron’s advice on making it to the NBA. “They’re not going to stop for you, so you got to be ready. It’s a whole other level of physicality and a whole other level of mind games as well, you have to be there mentally as well.”
Daron played at mid-major Dayton and was drafted 22nd overall last year by the Nuggets. Cameron is ranked 15th overall in the Class of 2026 by 247 and has many high major offers.
“So right now, mostly everybody is reaching out…Texas, Arizona, North Carolina, Oregon they’ve all been reaching out,” he said. “Every school that offered me stays in contact with me. I’m planning to set a couple visits, official or unofficial, this upcoming summer. So that’s my timeline.”

Cameron said he was at Arizona for the Red and Blue game to spectate but hasn’t taken any visit yet. He does have an idea of the schools he wants to visit officially and unofficially.
“Oregon for sure,” he said. “I already have that set up September 20th. I definitely want to get out to North Carolina. I want to try to get out to Oklahoma as well. A bunch of schools I want to get out to, because they’ve all been recruiting me very well, reaching out to me every single day. Texas and Arizona as well [I want to take visits to as well].”
Cameron said of the schools he’s looking to visit there are no leaders. Kansas was the first to offer and while he doesn’t hear from them much anymore his dad talks to them every two to three weeks.
