Five-star wing Karter Knox has become the first Class of 2024 recruit to follow John Calipari from Kentucky to Arkansas.
The 6-foot-5 small forward from Overtime Elite announced his commitment via On3.com.
“Cal [Coach John Calipari] got my brother to the league,” Karter said of his brother Kevin Knox when he committed to Kentucky last month. “It kind of makes sense. He got my big brother to the league; he can make me go to the league.”
He added: “When you’re playing for one of the greatest coaches of all time in college basketball it means something. You can learn something; he has sent so many dudes to the NBA. It’s really good to learn from a coach like that who sent people to the league.”
He anticipates making an immediate impact when he steps onto campus next season.
“I am going to bring my 3-level scoring,” he said when he pledged Kentucky. “The role that I am in obviously I do everything: score, defend, make plays for teammates. It’s all set for me. I just have to execute, put the work in, do my job on the court, and just stay focused.”
Calipari is also involved for former Kentucky commits Boogie Fland, Jayden Quaintance and Somto Cyril.
Quaintance told ZAGSBLOG Sunday night at the Jordan Brand Classic he is considering Louisville, Arkansas and Memphis, and plans to visit the latter two after a recent visit to Louisville.
Fland also told ZAGSBLOG Calipari wants him to come to Arkansas.
Calipari previously brought aboard former Kentucky big man Zvonimir Ivisic.
