MESA, AZ — Four-star shooting guard Mani Sajid has one of the purest looking jump shots in the entire 2026 class. The 6-foot-4 guard out of Plymouth-Whitemarsh (PA) showed off his abilities at EYBL Session 1 for Team Melo.
Against one of the better teams in the circuit, Team WhyNot, Sajid scored nine points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field. He knocked down one triple and added two assists, a steal and a rebound.
“He can really shoot it,” Team Melo head coach John Zito told ZAGSBLOG. “Super long. Can be active in passing lanes. I think he thinks the game well. We run a decent amount of offense, probably more than what most AAU teams do. And he’s picked everything up really well, which tells me he understands the game well. He’s been a great addition for us this year.”
Sajid agrees that his main strength is shooting. He’s working on becoming more of a downhill driver and adding on muscle in the weight room.
On the recruitment front, Sajid had Drexel, La Salle, Marquette, Penn State, St. Joe’s, Temple and Xavier’s old staff with Sean Miller (now Texas) out to see him at his high school. All of those schools have offered besides Marquette. Miller and staff have not reached out since moving over to Texas.
Sajid has taken visits to Penn State, St. Joe’s and Xavier with the old staff. He doesn’t have any planned at the moment but would like to take some during the period of no AAU basketball in June. VCU is another school in contact, as head coach Phil Martelli Jr. offered Sajid while he was at Bryant.
Sajid broke down a few of these programs to ZAGSBLOG:
Marquette: “I talked to coach DeAndre [Haynes]. I talked to coach Shaka [Smart] a little bit. I really like how they play. They’re a really tough team.”
Penn State: “I talked to coach [Mike] Rhoades. It’s a nice college out there. They’re a good program too. They’re an up-and-coming program, so I like that about them.”
St. Joe’s: “Coach [Billy] Lange and coach [Dwayne] Jones. I like St. Joe’s a lot. Close to home. Great staff. Love the staff.”
When it comes down to picking a school, Sajid wants a program that fits his playing style. He’s also looking closely at how coaches interact with their players.
The four-star guard said he’d like to narrow down his options after the summer AAU season and before his senior year of high school.
Sajid is ranked the No. 115 overall prospect in the 2026 class by 247Sports. His favorite NBA player is Kevin Durant. Sajid is a member of the 1,000 point club at Plymouth-Whitemarsh.
