Four-star forward Caleb Gaskins has committed to play for Miami and new head coach Jai Lucas, he announced on Thursday.
Gaskins is a 6-foot-8 forward from Christopher Columbus High School in Miami and chose the Hurricanes over Florida and Texas A&M.
He is a long and physical forward who is one of the very best defenders and rebounders in the nation and is a player that has been a winner at every level and in every competition. Spending his summer with Nightrydas Elite on the Nike EYBL circuit, Gaskins was the team’s leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 16.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
Gaskins also won the 2025 Chipotle Nationals Championship last season at Christopher Columbus High School, where he averaged 13.6 points and 6.3 rebounds playing alongside Cayden and Cameron Boozer, both now Duke freshmen.
His former high school coach, Andrew Moran, was also recently hired by Miami in April and currently serves as an assistant coach and the Director of Player Development.
“My coach [Andrew Moran] is there, so it’s an easier recruitment I’d say since it’s so close to home,” Gaskins told ZAGSBLOG in July.
This decision comes after Gaskins recently visited Coral Gables for a Miami football game on September 13.
He is Miami’s first commit in the class of 2026.
Gaskins is a four-star recruit and is ranked as the No. 24 overall prospect in the class of 2026, according to 247Sports.
