Kansas landed its second commitment of the week from Trent Perry, a four-star guard from Link Academy (MO). Perry chose the Jayhawks over Maryland and TCU.
A 6-foot-5 guard originally from Texas, Perry is the second recruit to commit to Kansas this week, joining Taylen Kinney, who committed on Sunday.
“I think Trent’s biggest quality is he is a winner,” Link Academy coach Chad Myers told ZAGSBLOG. “In a day where playing hard is a skill he is elite at that! He gets second-chance shots he creates from his defense. He is continuing to improve his shooting and finishing at the rim as well.”
Perry’s best traits are his athleticism and length, having some of the longest arms in the country for a player his size, with a 7-foot-1 wingspan. He was one of the most physical players in the circuit this summer and is considered an elite on-ball defender. Still making strides offensively, Perry has an extremely high ceiling due to his ability to play bigger than his frame.
The Jayhawks have also been prioritizing the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2026, Tyran Stokes, who Kinney said he’s been recruiting hard to Kansas.
Perry is rated as a four-star recruit and is ranked as a top-125 prospect in the class of 2026, according to 247Sports.
