Four-star guard Trey Beamer talks summer goals, updates recruitment

June 6, 2025 by Zags Blog

By JAMES MADDEN & SAM LANCE

KANSAS CITY, KS — Trey Beamer just wrapped up his junior season at IMG Academy (FL) and is playing with Team United of the Nike EYBL circuit this summer. After three sessions, Beamer is a top-10 scorer in the circuit, averaging 20.1 points and 3.2 assists in 11 games so far.

At 6-foot-1, 160 pounds, Beamer isn’t afraid of getting to the rim and the paint, despite being slightly undersized. He prides himself on his offensive repertoire and his ability to be a consistent and dangerous scorer.

“My scoring is definitely my best trait, being able to put the ball in the basket at any point in time,” Beamer told ZAGSBLOG.

The guard plans on using this upcoming summer to get in the weight room to improve his strength and endurance for his senior season. Beamer also has his eyes set on the upcoming NBPA Top-100, hoping to further boost his stock.

“I really want to showcase what I can do out there,” Beamer said. “It’s a big camp, big stage.”

On the recruitment front, Beamer holds offers from Charleston, DePaul, Florida State, Mississippi State, Old Dominion, Radford, USF, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. He had LSU, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest in to see him during the high school season and has had Wake Forest’s Steve Forbes and coaches from Florida State, Michigan State and Virginia Tech out during the live session in Memphis.

As far as visits, Beamer took an unofficial to Wake Forest last year and he’s looking to trip Mississippi State sometime this month.

Beamer spoke with ZAGSBLOG about the two programs recruiting him the hardest:

Mississippi State: “We’ve been building a constant relationship too throughout the years. Those are my guys too. They help me a lot. Give me advice whenever they can. I would say them too.”

Wake Forest: “We’ve been talking since last summer. They offered me, like June of my sophomore year. So we’ve always been in touch. They’re right down the road from my house. I really love them. Those are my guys.”

Beamer says he is looking for a place that will feel like home, putting basketball aside. The guard is ranked as a four-star recruit by ESPN and a top-125 player in the class of 2026 by 247Sports.
