ROCK HILL, S.C. — Class of 2026 four-star point guard Darius Bivins was consistently one of the best players on the Adidas 3SSB circuit this summer.
Bivins, the 6-foot point guard out of Bishop O’Connell (VA) and the Washington Warriors Adidas AAU program, finished the summer first in Adidas 3SSB in assists per game (5.8) and fifth in steals (2.3). He also had an assist/turnover ratio of 110:22 (5.0) and three games with 10+ assists across 19 total contests. Each and every matchup, Bivins was the hub for the Warriors offensively, running the team and finding his teammates, as well as scoring — one area Bivins believes he’s made a big jump.
“Last year, I was really passive not looking for my shot,” Bivins said. “But this year, my coach came to me and was like, ‘We need you to score on this team.’ So I think so far this summer, I’ve really improved my scoring. Getting to my spots, my mid-range, my floaters, all of that.”
The point guard averaged 16.8 points while shooting 42.4% from the field and 27-of-87 (31.0%) from 3-point range. Bivins particularly improved his scoring in pick-and-roll situations.
“Instead of hitting the pop all the time or the roll, just like holding my defender off, getting to the hole, finishing strong,” Bivins said. “Finishing over bigs and just like using — getting to the free throw line to be honest with you. I think that’s a big thing. I think I’m averaging like 8 or 9 free throws a game.”
Bivins didn’t attend any camps in June, but he went to Donovan Mitchell’s camp recently and will be attending Adidas All-American camp this fall.
Two ankles, one game. Darius Bivins is exceptional. His handles are insane, showing signs of a future star!

As far as his recruitment, Bivins has set several official visits this fall: Stanford (Sept. 18), South Florida (Oct. 11), Rutgers (Oct. 17), VCU (Oct. 22), Houston (Oct. 31) and Texas Tech (Nov. 7) with trips to Maryland and Seton Hall in the works. He’s previously tripped Harvard officially and taken unofficial visits to Georgetown, Rutgers and Virginia (under Tony Bennett). Other programs involved include Boston College, Vanderbilt and some mid-majors. Bivins has no final list set, but that could be coming soon.
“I would say probably the end of the summer for narrowing it down,” Bivins said. “And then try to make a decision maybe soon after that. November, October, September. Somewhere around then. But just taking it day by day man.”
The four-star point guard broke down some of his options to ZAGSBLOG in Rock Hill:
Boston College: “Coach Corey [McCrae] is actually from the DMV. He knows a lot of people I know, so there’s a lot of connections there. And the I talked to the coach. He’s really cool. Really like — he’s not a big believer in getting onto players so much, but he’s more of like trying to help the players get better. And they’re all about development. So I like that a lot.”
Houston: “You know Houston is always a top program in the country and their two past guards have been very successful, They actually sent me a really cool comparison video of their guards and me and how we play similar. And I can fit in to their offense, which consists of a lot of ball screens, which I think I play really well in. And they care all about development up there which I love.”
Rutgers: “Great man. Me and coach T.J. [Thompson] have a great relationship. So looking forward to that visit man.”
Seton Hall: “Shaheen [Holloway] is known for playing small guards. Even when he was at St. Peter’s and they ended up beating Purdue, then they beat a couple other people, they had a lot of small guards on that team. So I really like that. And he’s just like an in the mud type guy, which fits me. So I like all of that.”
Texas Tech: “I love everything about them too. Development there is big. Coach [Grant] McCasland and I have built a great relationship. Coach [Kellen] Buffington was actually here today, so we’ve been talking throughout the weekend. Real cool dude, and real cool staff in general.”
USF: “I like how he lets his guards play and stuff. It’s a good system. I feel like I could fit in well there. And the campus is beautiful. They sent me videos and stuff. And I like their energy. The coaching staff seemed really cool and really interesting.”
Bivins previously gave thoughts on some of his other options here. When picking a school, Bivins will be focused on the development program, and he wants a coach that truly cares about him.
The point guard is ranked the No. 77 overall prospect in the 2026 class by 247Sports. When speaking with scouts this summer, Bivins consistently came up as a player they were impressed with.
