Class of 2024 four-star small forward Trent Noah has been granted a release from his National Letter of Intent to South Carolina, per his X.com page.
“To begin, I would like to express my gratitude to the South Carolina basketball staff and fan base for embracing me as a Gamecock,” Noah said in his statement. “After much thought, prayer and extensive conversation with my family, I requested and was granted a release from my National Letter of Intent with the University of South Carolina. I will be reopening my recruitment with hopes of pursuing basketball opportunities closer to home.”
Noah, the 6-foot-6, 200-pound small forward from Harlan County (KY), is ranked the No. 105 player in the class of 2024 by 247Sports. He’s also the No. 2 player in Kentucky behind four-star point guard and Kentucky signee Travis Perry. Noah and Perry could possibly team up in their home state.

Noah led Harlan County to its first ever state championship game this past high school basketball season and played against Perry in the title game. Harlan County ended up falling to Lyon County 67-58. Even though Noah fell short, he became a state tournament legend, scoring 129 points in the four games.
Noah’s grandfather is Perky Bryant, who played running back at the University of Kentucky in the early 1960s.
