NOTES

This is the first Georgetown – St. John’s meeting since Feb. 28, 2015 where both teams enter with a winning Big East record. Both teams went on to finish above .500 in the league and each made the NCAA Tournament.

Deivon Smith is most likely out tonight, per Rick Pitino. #sjubb

WHAT’S AT STAKE

Georgetown: The Hoyas need to stop the bleeding. After putting up a great fight on the road in Milwaukee, Georgetown had a horrible stretch to open the second half and was never really competitive afterwards in losing at home to UConn. A win over a good St. John’s team on the road that will probably be missing Devion Smith would be a great way to end the slide and get back on track for Ed Cooley and Co. In a down year for the Big East, St. John’s offers up one of the better resume building win opportunities at the moment.
