A season with big expectations for the Knicks is already off to a less than ideal start.
Key rotational players Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson will miss the season-opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, per Shams Charania, while Karl-Anthony Towns (quad strain) is questionable.
Hart is reportedly dealing with lumbar spasms, an injury he suffered after the first game of the preseason.
As for Robinson, the Knicks have reported that he has no new injuries but New York wants to take a cautious approach with the 7-footer and it’s more of a load management issue.
Towns, meantime, was downgraded from doubtful to questionable
Still, the Knicks head into this season with expectations higher than they have been at any point this century. Whether or not they meet those expectations remains to be seen.
