Class of 2026 four-star small forward Maximo Adams will be switching AAU programs, but will stay in the Nike EYBL circuit. He’s making the move from Team WhyNot to Vegas Elite, per his Instagram page.
Adams — the 6-foot-6 small forward out of Sierra Canyon (CA) — had a productive Session 1 with Team WhyNot. He averaged 9.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per game while shooting 42.3% from the field. He’ll be joining a Vegas Elite team that features ranked prospects like Anthony Felesi, Katrelle Harmon and Mariano Manciel.
Adams describes himself as a two or three who can rebound and guard multiple positions. He can also shoot it and operates well from the mid-range. This summer, he wants to show coaches his ability to play the right way and find his teammates.
Recruitment wise, Adams is hearing from programs like Oregon, SMU and USC. He broke down those schools below:
Oregon: “I’m planning on taking an official visit to Oregon soon, probably next month. Coach Mike [Mennenga] the assistant coach, he’s been contacting me, talking to me every day. We’ve been building a great relationship.”
SMU: “Jay Morris was the coach that was at USC, and he just transferred in as an assistant coach. And also Andy Enfield. They’ve been talking to me.”
USC: “Coach [Eric] Musselman, he’s the one that contacts me. We’ve had a great relationship, and he’s talked to me multiple times. We’re growing our relationship more.”
Adams has a family history in basketball. His father, Marcus Adams, played at UNLV before heading overseas to Argentina for pro ball. His brother, Marcus Adams Jr., played for CSUN this past year and is now transferring to Arizona State for the 2025-26 season.
The small forward is ranked the No. 56 overall prospect in the 2026 class by 247Sports.
