Michigan, Dusty May land Yale big man Danny Wolf

April 21, 2024 by Zags Blog

By SAM LANCE

Dusty May doesn’t sleep in April. Instead, he recruits. Another piece to the 2024-25 roster is on the way, and it’s another splash in Yale transfer big man Danny Wolf.

Wolf, the 7-foot, 255-pound center from Glencoe (IL), made his announcement via Instagram. He averaged 14.1 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game as a sophomore for the Bulldogs. Wolf also stretched the floor, shooting 34.5% from 3-point range on 84 attempts.

This is the second commitment for May in 24 hours, as he landed 2024 high school prospect Justin Pippen, the son of NBA legend Scottie Pippen, on Friday.

Wolf has played two seasons at Yale and will be a junior at Michigan. During his high school days, Wolf played for the Mac Irvin Fire EYBL team and helped his high school Northfield Mount Hermon reach the finals in both the NEPSAC Triple-A championship and the national prep championship in 2022.

The 7-footer won a silver medal with Team Israel in the 2023 FIBA Under-20 European Championships as well. He posted 17.7 points per game and 12.0 rebounds per game throughout the tournament, good for the second-best and best average of all players.

Wolf is ranked No. 19 overall transfer by 247Sports the No. 99 player in the portal by Evan Miya.

May now his his first portal addition in Wolf and two high school newcomers coming in next year in Pippen and three-star point guard Durral Brooks. The Wolverine’s roster next season will look much different, as several players have hit the portal from last year’s Juwan Howard-coached team, including point guard Dug McDaniel, center Tarris Reed and forward Terrance Williams.
