Michigan State lands 2026 point guard

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Michigan State has landed a commitment from Carlos Medlock Jr., a Class of 2026 point guard from Link Academy and the Phenom United AAU program.

The 5-foot-11 floor general is the No. 10 point guard in his class, per 247Sports.com.

“I chose Michigan State because I genuinely feel that I have a real connection with the whole coaching staff and they make me feel like I’m home.” Medlock said, per ESPN’s Paul Biancardi. “I see it as a program where I can go in and help take my game to the next level. They will help me become a better person off the court.”

Link Academy coach Chad Myers told ZAGSBLOG:

“Carlos Medlock is an elite guard that has a high-level burst and an ability to make shots and plays at all 3 levels. His production this spring and summer showed the type of playmaker he is. His toughness and competitive nature and will to win fits right in line with previous Michigan State guards and their winning tradition. We are excited to have him at Link for his senior season!”

ESPN’s Fran Fraschilla raved about Medlock as well.

An NBA friend saw this young man in the spring, and though unranked, thought he was one of the best point guards in the country. I promise you that he will be ranked high very soon. The moral for college coaches here: TRUST YOUR OWN EYES. @MSU_Basketball https://t.co/TJeATyJ15d
