As he transitions into the role of focal point under a new regime at Montverde Academy in Central Florida, Class of 2026 wing Jayden Hodge has lined up several official visits for the fall.
A hard attacking and Powerfully built 6-foot-6, 195-pound downhill scoring threat, Hodge is slated for visits to Old Dominion (Sept 5-7th), Penn State (Sept 12-14th), Mississippi State (Oct. 3-5th) and Vanderbilt (Oct.10-12th).
A four star recruit known for his stout on ball defense, Hodge averaged 21.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.7 steals, and 2.2 assists at St. Rose HS in New Jersey as a junior.
Hodge visited Georgetown and Northwestern back in June. He is also considering Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth.
Hodge’s father, Odell Hodge, is currently on staff at Old Dominion. A legendary fogure on campus, Odell Hodge authored an illustrious career as a player at ODU, culminating his career with 2,000+ points and 1,000+ rebounds.
“To play for my pops, I would always keep that option open,” Jayden Hodge told ZAGSBLOG.
“He’s coached me my whole life really, my dad. Even when he’s not coaching and he’s on the sidelines, he gets me ready and gets me hyped and motivated. He and (head coach Mike Jones), they had a great career together at ODU.”
Representing Belgium at FIBA U-18 Euros this summer, Hodge was able to use his physicality in knifing to the rim, tracking down boards and generating second chance opportunities.
He was effective in attacking both sides of the rim and finishing, as he scored 17 points and pulled down seven boards during a loss to Slovenia.
