The NBA has set its featured slate of games for Opening Night and Christmas Day, ESPN announced on Friday.
The NBA season will tip off on Oct. 21 with Kevin Durant visiting his former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, on banner night as a member of the Houston Rockets. The ceremonial game will be followed by a clash of the League’s biggest stars, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
The NBA has also set its Christmas Day slate, ESPN announced.
The league enjoyed one of its most successful Christmas Day slates in recent history last season, generating the most views during Christmas Day ever on NBA League Pass.
The slate will feature Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks against Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers, Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs against Shai Gilgeous Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder, Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony Davis and the Dallas Mavericks against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors and Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.
Opening Night will broadcast on NBC and Christmas Day will air on ESPN and ABC.
