If Dylan Mingo’s high major stock were an actual stock, now would be an opportune time to purchase it.
The PSA Cardinals’ prized 2026 recruit, a seasoned 6-foot-5 point guard at Long Island Lutheran, did a commendable job raising his national profile this summer.
Mingo averaged 24 points, seven assists, and seven rebounds throughout the NBA Top 100 Camp, ultimately garnering Camp MVP honors.
Showing a rapidly improved/quickened shot release, crafty ambidextrous finishes, as well as multi-layered uniqueness, Mingo was a two way tone setter throughout the 2025 summer.
Mingo’s impact on every connotation of the stat sheet was evident against Team Herro during the EYBL Session in Memphis earlier in the summer.
He scored 31 points, tore down 10 rebounds, doled out four assists and pocketed two steals during a convincing performance.
The sublime showing ultimately illustrated just how rigorous a matchup Mingo is, as he hit shots amid an array of fakes and draping contested hands.
After recently visiting Washington, Mingo said he will wait until after a pair of upcoming events–the SLAM Summer Classic Volume 7 at Rucker Park (Aug. 21) and the Nike Mamba League Invitational in Los Angeles (Aug.23) before scheduling more visits.
“The Washington visit went great, I didn’t know Seattle was that nice,” said Mingo.
“‘Seattle is super nice. They have a really good team this year. They have really good guard play. I think that their guard play could be up there with anyone in the country. It was fun visiting the campus ans experiencing something new, I don’t really go out there like that.”
At the moment, Mingo said he’s hearing from NC State, UNC, Alabama, Penn State, Miami, Virginia, USC, Baylor, UConn, and Washington the most.
Penn State, of course, features Mingo”s older brother, high octane guard Kayden Mingo, as a promising freshman.
Mingo discussed the ongoing recruitment process and the assessed his relationships with several of the programs he’s considering:
NC State: “Coach Will Wade, I speak with him a lot. I am really building the relationship with them right now.
They tell me how I would fit their program. Coach (Wade) will send me quotes that he sends his team, just to get my mind right.
Illinois: “Coach Orlando (Antigua), he’s texting me a lot. Just checking in on me and sending me their film.
He’s telling me how I would fit in their system.”
Alabama– I have been speaking with (head) Coach Nate Oats and Coach Preston Murphy.
They send me a lot of film consistently. They sent me film breaking down my game with positive critiques, how I can make my game more efficient. Showing me how they can help me become more efficient and a better player.”
Miami–“They are really just telling me about their preparation and how they are ready to get this thing going (in the first year under Jai Lucas). They said they have a bunch of good guards next year. They think really I can come in next year and instantly make that impact and just do what I do.”
North Carolina –“Hubert Davjs speaks with me a lot and we just talk about everything. About life.
He calls me even while he’s on vacation. We talk about anything, really. He told me he’s not scared to play freshmen. He’s played a lot of freshmen in the past. He tells me regardless.of which school I wind up at, it is all about the work you put in.”
USC: “Coach Muss calls a lot. He reaches out a lot.
Musselman was probably one of my favorite coaches when I was younger, when he was at Arkansas.
So its really nice seeing him reach out. He talks a lot about guard play. How they always let their guards rock every year, no matter what.”
UCONN: Dan Hurley and Kimani (Young), we talk a lot. We really just talk about anything.
About working on my game. They keep me updated with how things are going up there.
They just tell me to ask them any question I want any time, so I can learn and get better.
Penn State: “Coach (Mike) Rhoades and I really talk about the development piece there. They have a really good weight lifting program. We talk about aspects outside of basketball too, like how nice it is out there and how high character the culture of the program is.”
