Robinson rising in stock

January 30, 2026 by Zags Blog

Adapting to a point guard role after previously playing off the ball, Class of 2028 DNA Prep (CA) prospect Jayden Robinson is starting to blossom into a creative play-maker capable of engineering a quick paced and high powered attack.

With an adeptness for pocket passes and sumultaneously leaning on a mid range pull up, scoring the ball in all phases and manufacturing points at the free throw line, Robinson has steadily evolved into one of the top young recruits along the West Coast.

He was recently offered by Washington, and he plans on taking an official visit after the regular season at DNA Prep runs its course.

“Most recently I’ve been hearing from Washington, Saint Louis, Tulsa, High Point, UNLV, Nevada, just a good list of schools right now,” Robinson said.

“I think I am at seven offers overall right now. Its just a matter of getting better, working as a team to continue to get better, and hopefully I will keep expanding that list.”

Saint Louis, of course, has taken flight into the national spotlight this season.

Now no.21 nationally, Saint Louis has amassed a 20-1 overall record while going 8-0 in the Atlantic-10.

The Billikens have established a new program record with 17 consecutive wins on their home floor.

Playing on a hyper-competitive The Grind Session circuit, this youth laden DNA Prep HS team features intriguing under the radar talent– including a 6-foot-8, vertically explosive forward in Ari Kamden.

A rim runner from France, Kamden’s blend of length, athleticism, and instincts were noteworthy during the recent Grind Session Crush In The Valley event.

“Since the new year, I am starting to see more with our guy Ari,” said Robinson.

“He has a motor and he has just been a really good transition finisher for us.”

Robinson’s niche needs no deep and detailed explanation.

As a quarterback-like facilitator, he makes everything go for this DNP Prep High School team.

While he has taken on more of a heavier scoring presence this season, the 6-foot-3 sophomore has adapted to the intricacies of the lead guard role.

He has subseuqently relished the responsibility of being an extension of the coach.

Robinson’s father, Frank Robinson, played an integral role in leading Cal State-Fullerton to a 2008 NCAA tournament appearance.

Robinson enjoyed a 10-year professional career in the NBA G-League and overseas.

“I’m starting to see shots and see certain actions on the floor,” Jayden Robinson said.

“I think my play-making has gotten to the point where it’s pretty good.”
