Class of 2026 four-star guard Dakari Spear has committed to Texas Tech, he announced on X. Spear is a 6-foot-5 guard from Dallas and is a senior at Dynamic Prep (TX).
He is a lengthy guard and has a measured 6-foot-10 wingspan. Spear is an elite defender and made significant strides towards improving his offensive skillset this summer with Drive Nation on the Nike EYBL circuit.
I have a good bond with the coaches. One of their assistants on staff (Kellen Buffington) is someone I have been close with before he even got there. When he used to run events down in Texas, tournaments and stuff like that. Being able to communicate with him and see what the environment is like out there. They say its crazy out there, so being able to experience that will be exciting,” Spear told ZAGSBLOG about his relationship with Texas Tech.
He is Grant McCasland and Texas Tech’s first commit in the class of 2026.
Spear is rated as a four-star recruit and is ranked as the No. 83 overall prospect in the class of 2026, according to 247Sports.
