Top-10 class of 2024 prospect Vyctorius Miller to start junior officials in September

July 31, 2022 by Zags Blog

By SAM LANCE

Class of 2024 five-star shooting guard Vyctorius Miller plans to start taking his junior year official visits in September, he tells ZAGSBLOG.com.

Miller, the 6-foot-5, 170-pound guard from Compass Prep (AZ) and the West Coast Elite AAU program, is the son of rapper Vyshonn Miller (Silkk the Shocker). Miller said he and his dad will get together to set up his visits.

The guard is specifically eyeing visits to Texas Tech, Memphis, Oklahoma State and possibly Rutgers. Miller mentioned that some of those schools are recruiting him the hardest. Currently, Miller said he’s hearing most from USC, UCLA, Kansas, Texas Tech, Rutgers, LSU and Memphis.

He broke down each of those options at the UAA finals in Chicago:

USC: “It’s literally like 30 minutes away from me. So that’s pretty much it. I like their staff and everybody over there.”

UCLA: “I love them too. [Mick] Cronin and all of them, they are my guys. I went on a visit there and it was all fun and games. I know everybody over there. I pretty much went there to watch like, I don’t know if you remember when LeBron [James], [Russell] Westbrook and Kyrie [Irving] were there, but I was there watching them play.”

Kansas: “I mean they won last year. So that pretty much says it all. They won. They are winners.”

Texas Tech: “They just offered me [recently]. It’s cool. Coach [Mark] Adams so funny. The guy is mad funny. I think they got Elijah Fisher, and he’s tough. They have a lot of new recruits coming in and stuff like that.”

LSU: “I mean, I pretty much grew up there. My dad grew up there and my whole family tree is over there.”

Memphis: “I’m going over there for a visit soon. I don’t really know too much about them, but I know my dad and Penny Hardaway are pretty close.”

Rutgers: “Those are my guys too. I feel like all these coaches are my guys and we’ve built a bond.”

Head coaches from USC, UCLA, LSU and Rutgers were all at the UAA finals in Chicago to watch Miller play.

Miller said a key factor in his recruitment will be finding a place with a winning culture because he feels that’s part of what makes him a special as a player.

“I bring a winning energy,” Miller said. “When I get to school I’m trying to win every time. I’m a dog.”

Miller is ranked the No. 6 player nationally in the class of 2024 by 247Sports. The guard said he’s been talking with other top players in the class about joining them in college, specifically five-star small forward Carter Bryant and four-star center James Brown.

Miller’s trainer is 11-year NBA veteran and point guard Darren Collison. The former UCLA standout played three games for the Los Angeles Lakers last season, which happens to be Miller’s favorite team.

“I’m not going to lie wherever LeBron [James] goes, I’m going to be a fan,” Miller said. “100 percent.”

Miller takes bits and pieces from James’ game because he’s a big guard. He also likes to watch NBA players like Kyrie Irving, Cade Cunningham, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Ja Morant.

In 20 years, Miller wants to have his family set up for generational wealth.

“Just build a family tree under my name because I know my parents have done that for me,” Miller said. “So I want to make it to the top and stay up there for a long time. Just let everybody eat from my side.”
