Hacopian spent two seasons with the Terps.
Only two weeks following the conclusion of the season, Maryland baseball shortstop Chris Hacopian will enter the transfer portal, according to Michael Howes of The Diamondback.
Maryland sophomore standout shortstop Chris Hacopian has entered the portal per @Mikephowes.
This comes as a huge blow for the Terps after Hollis Porter entered this past week.

After a stellar freshman season, Hacopian continued his skilled play in his sophomore campaign. He led the team with a .375 batting average across 52 games, knocked in 14 home runs and 61 RBIs and was named to his second consecutive All-Big Ten second team.
This comes as a massive blow for the Terps after first baseman Hollis Porter entered the portal earlier in the week. Porter’s 21 home runs this past season meant two of the team’s leading bats were departing.
After flipping his commitment from Wake Forest in 2023 to play with his older brother Eddie — and at their father Derek’s alma mater — Hacopian will look to boost his MLB draft stock elsewhere.
Hacopian joins Porter, Dom Mats and Luke Keefer as players set to enter the transfer portal.
