Glaze was the first Maryland player drafted this year.
Maryland offensive lineman Delmar Glaze was drafted Friday in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders. Glaze, the first Terp selected in this year’s draft, was taken with the No. 77 overall pick.
Glaze, the highest-selected offensive lineman from Maryland since Melvin Fowler in 2002 (No. 76), was a third-team All-Big Ten selection this past season, his second straight year earning all-conference honors. He started every game at left tackle and excelled, with Pro Football Focus giving him the second-highest pass blocking grade among Big Ten tackles and the fourth-best grade nationally for a tackle.
Glaze has been a stalwart on the Terps’ offensive line since his redshirt freshman season in 2021. He’s appeared in every game since, almost exclusively at tackle.
After Maryland’s win over Auburn in last December’s Music City Bowl, Glaze participated in the Reese’s Senior Bowl, considered the premier all-star game in college football. He was also invited to the NFL scouting combine, where he measured at 6-foot-4, 315 pounds and earned a NFL Next Gen Stats score — which measures the totality of a prospect’s performance — of 71, which ranked 18th among tackles in this year’s draft class.
Glaze was the 15th tackle taken in this year’s draft and the 21st offensive lineman.
Glaze will join former Maryland teammate Jakorian Bennett in Las Vegas. Bennett, a cornerback, was a fourth-round pick in last year’s draft. Two Maryland offensive linemen were also drafted in 2023: Jaelyn Duncan (Tennessee Titans) and Spencer Anderson (Steelers).
This is the first time Maryland offensive linemen have been selected in back-to-back NFL drafts since 2009-10. A Terp has now been selected in seven straight drafts.
