This is the Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.
Maryland baseball made a mid-season change to its schedule on Monday, announcing that it will play USC Upstate at home on May 8.
The game, scheduled to start at 6 p.m., will be Maryland’s final midweek game of the season, falling between road series at Rutgers and Boston College. The Terps are 7-3 in such games, but lost their last two to Georgetown and UMBC — part of a recent skid that has seen them lose eight of their last 11 games.
USC Upstate was No. 67 in the latest RPI rankings, 15 spots behind Maryland (No. 52). The Spartans currently have a record of 24-13, their most valuable victory coming last week at Clemson (No. 1 in RPI).
