This is a Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.

Maryland men’s basketball is hitting the road to begin the Buzz Williams era.

The Terps will open their season on November 3 against Coppin State at the CFG Bank Arena. Maryland is one of four teams from the state taking part in the Naismith Hall of Fame Series Baltimore — Towson will play Loyola on the same day.

This is Maryland’s first time playing in the state’s largest city since 2018, when they played Loyola Chicago as part of the Charm City Classic.

“The Hall of Fame Series will be a tremendous way to open the upcoming season, and it is going to be special for the passionate basketball fans of Baltimore,” Williams said in a press release. “[I]t will be a good opportunity to get the Terps back in a city with such great basketball history.”
