Maryland men’s basketball fans will be seeing a familiar name in the Xfinity Center this fall.
Nicholas Blake committed to the Terps on Tuesday, he announced on Instagram. He will follow in the footsteps of his father, 2002 national champion and 2003 first-team All ACC point guard Steve Blake.

Blake, a 6-foot-2 guard, played for Olympia High School in Orlando, Florida, averaging 10.6 points per game, 2.6 rebounds per game, 1.3 assists per game, and 0.6 steals per game. Per Jeff Ermann, it is unclear whether he will be a scholarship player or a walk-on.
Maryland men’s basketball head coach Buzz Williams has been active in filling out his freshman class, with the Terps also securing the commitment of unranked forward Jaziah Harper on Sunday and three-star forward Aleks “Serbian Sniper” Alston on Tuesday. The move for Blake completes Maryland’s roster ahead of the 2025-2026 season, with official practices starting in the upcoming weeks.
