On Saturday, Sellers was placed on waivers by the Golden State Valkyries, the team that selected her 17th overall in the 2025 WNBA draft.
Despite speculation that she was waived due to injury concerns, Sellers’ dad, Brad, confirmed that the 6-foot-2 guard was fully healthy. He revealed that Sellers was cleared by both Maryland and Golden State’s medical teams.
Bringing some clarity to your questions; @shyannesellers3 is 100% healthy! Cleared by 2 different medical teams @TerpsWBB & @valkyries before training camp began. Shy was moving fine, playing well, & made good relationships in the locker room just like Maryland ! Back 2 work!

With the Dream, Sellers joins former Terps Shatori Walker-Kimbrough and Brionna Jones. Atlanta acquired both Walker-Kimbrough and Jones over the offseason.
In her fourth and final season at Maryland, Sellers averaged 12.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and four assists per game.
