Here are the Big Ten teams in action this week.
This weekend, Nebraska and Illinois are the only two teams in the conference on a bye week meaning there are six Big Ten matchups, five of which feature at least one ranked team.
Let’s take a look at the spreads for all the Big Ten games this Saturday. All lines are courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Maryland (+13.5) at No. 8 Michigan State
O/U 62.5
Following a big win against Michigan, Michigan State hosted Purdue for its next matchup. The Boilermakers came into East Lansing, Michigan ready to shake things up and handed the Spartans their first loss of the season. Maryland, on the other hand, stuck with Penn State through the first three quarters but ultimately could not hold back wide receiver Jahan Dotson. The wideout finished the game with a program record of 242 yards.
Both teams are coming off losses but the Spartans will be looking to get back to their winning form against a Maryland team that has struggled to find wins against ranked opponents this season.
Northwestern (+24) at No. 20 Wisconsin
O/U 41
Wisconsin is coming off a statement win against Rutgers. The Badgers marched into Piscataway, New Jersey and cruised past the Scarlet Knights, 52-3. Northwestern found itself in the loss column for the third week in a row after most recently falling to No. 19 Iowa, 17-12. The over/under in this game shows that although Wisconsin is expected to come away with the win, it may not do so in as dominant of a fashion as it did over Scarlet Knights.
No. 9 Michigan (+1) at No. 23 Penn State
O/U 48
The Nittany Lions are coming off their win against the Terps in which Dotson exploded past Maryland’s defense for over 240 receiving yards and three touchdowns. They hope to ride that momentum back onto their home field as they host No. 9 Michigan. The Wolverines have suffered just one loss to their in-state rivals, Michigan State. This should be a close and exciting matchup as displayed by the spread.
Rutgers (+6.5) at Indiana
O/U 43
Despite standing at 0-6 in conference play, Indiana is the favorite coming into this matchup. Rutgers was defeated by Wisconsin on their home field by a large margin and now has to travel to Bloomington, Indiana to take on the Hoosiers. The Scarlet Knights have won just one conference game and it will be interesting to see if Indiana can find a rhythm to win at home and defeat Rutgers.
Minnesota (+6.5) at No. 19 Iowa
O/U 37
Minnesota seemed to be on an upward swing until it fell to Illinois on Saturday. The Fighting Illini are a team that has pulled off some upsets this season however, after commanding wins over its other conference opponents, excluding Ohio State, the Golden Gophers were building momentum. Iowa most recently defeated Iowa however before that, suffered consecutive losses to Purdue and Wisconsin. It will be a battle between one of the conference’s best rushing offenses against one of its best rushing defenses.
Purdue (+20) at No. 6 Ohio State
O/U 62
The Boilermakers have pulled up two huge upsets over then-No. 2 Iowa on Oct. 16 and then most recently over then-No. 5 Michigan State on Nov. 6. Purdue received votes in this week’s AP Top 25 poll but is not quite ranked standing at the unofficial 26 spot. Now, the Boilermakers have another tough test ahead as they travel into Columbus, Ohio as 20-point underdogs to take on C.J. Stroud and the Buckeyes. Ohio State has not lost a game since it fell to Oregon in early September.
