On this week’s episode of the Under the Shell Podcast, hosts Brendan Weissel, Sam Jane and Michael Howes are joined by Ravens safety and former Terp Beau Brade.
Brade is entering his second season in the NFL after signing with Baltimore last year as an undrafted free agent. The safety was an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in both 2023 and 2022 with Maryland. Growing up in Clarksville, Md, Brade was a Ravens fan as a child and played flag football for the Columbia Raven.
The Ravens safety discussed his journey to the NFL, his Maryland career and why the Terps haven’t won a marquee matchup under Coach Michael Locksley.
“You can’t make mistakes,” Brade said of Maryland beating a top opponent. “Players can’t make mistakes, shoot themselves in the foot. Coaches can’t make mistakes with certain calls and stuff. And I feel like just in the games we made maybe one or two too many mistakes.”
The hosts also discussed women’s lacrosse’s Big Ten title loss, the upcoming Big Ten tournament for men’s lacrosse and baseball’s season-long skid.
