Breaking: Chiefs Could Trade Super Bowl Bust

June 21, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

After spending three seasons with the team, the Kansas City Chiefs could finally trade wide receiver Skyy Moore before the 2025 regular season. According to a report, the source believes Moore is going to have to prove himself during the offseason, and that is true considering how deep the depth is in the Chiefs’ receiver unit. Originally selected in the 2022 NFL Draft, the former Western Michigan product is entering the last year of his contract and probably won’t earn another deal next offseason. The Chiefs might have to trade the wide receiver either way since the team already has many receivers to deal with.

After drafting Jalen Royals and re-signing Marquise Brown, the competition increases for Moore. It leaves him as the odd man out, and even when he got the opportunity, it wasn’t enough to intrigue the front office that he could move up the depth chart even ahead of wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. Between Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Brown, and Royals, this means Moore will miss the cut by an inch if he even makes the 53-man roster. It shouldn’t be surprising if the Chiefs release him, but it might be smarter to put him on the trade block first to net some draft capital, but either way, here are four teams that may sign him if he becomes a free agent.

Breaking: Chiefs Could Trade Super Bowl Bust Skyy Moore – 4 Suitors Emerge

Possible Next Teams

Dallas Cowboys

This is probably the only team that might make another trade to bolster their wide receiver unit. After acquiring George Pickens, who is already in his own contract, the Cowboys won’t be losing much if they do the same with Moore. It looks like the receiver unit is coming together in Dallas, but that is all dependent on what they do and the performance from Pickens and Jalen Tolbert, who is also in his last year of a contract. Moore might be the replacement for Tolbert if he impresses, or could boost some reliability in the aerial attack temporarily for Dak Prescott.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers are still tirelessly targeting a new wide receiver, especially after trading Pickens this offseason. Anyone after DK Metcalf between Robert Woods, Calvin Austin, Roman Wilson and Scotty Miller won’t give much for Aaron Rodgers’ first year as a part of this offensive roster. Moore might not be explosive, but he has untapped potential to light up the field. He won’t turn this offense already, but he’s another body that can make life easier to throw it in the middle.

Baltimore Ravens

However, the Baltimore Ravens don’t necessarily need a receiver this year, but they could use one for the future. DeAndre Hopkins signing with the Ravens is likely temporary to increase the chances for a Super Bowl run. After Rashod Bateman’s recent contract extension, it’s obvious that he and Zay Flowers will serve Lamar Jackson as the main contributors in this pass game. Moore has the same athleticism and versatility as them, so he might need a new scenery to excel, and he could fit very well in Baltimore.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers are still in dire need of a wide receiver. After signing Mike Williams and drafting Tre Harris, this isn’t enough stability for quarterback Justin Herbert to grow. Since he’s able to thrive throwing it to a reliable Ladd McConkey, the Chargers could find the same hope in Skyy Moore as another capable slot receiver to hopefully solidify this receiver unit further.
