After spending the past three seasons with the Detroit Lions, wide receiver Kalif Raymond could be on the trade block. According to Bleacher Report, the source believes the Lions might trade the wideout if they get another offensive weapon or versatile defensive piece in return. Originally selected as an undrafted rookie in 2016, the former Holy Cross product might become expendable if the emergence of Isaac TeSlaa and Dominic Lovett breakouts this 2025 season. While Raymond has special team abilities, it might not matter for the Lions, as running back Craig Reynolds has those capabilities too.
Raymond won’t be the most exciting trade candidate on the market, but he does have a lot in the tank left at age 31, where he could be a capable receiver in the aerial attack and returning punts. The Lions wouldn’t lose much since they already traded Tim Patrick to the Jacksonville Jaguars, so that shows you the confidence they have in TeSlaa and Lovett emerging as reliable weapons behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams. It’ll be interesting to see how much attention Raymond will get this upcoming 2025 campaign. With him slowing down due to age, the Lions can dangle him on the trade block, so these four teams could pursue him in a potential deal.

Best Fits
Dallas Cowboys
Even though the Dallas Cowboys have Kavontae Turpin to take care of special teams, it’s never a bad idea to add another. With Jonathan Mingo heading to the IR, the team is still left with three capable receivers down the stretch between CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens and Jalen Tolbert. However, it doesn’t mean they can’t add more firepower to this offense.
It’s better to add some trickery plays in some moments to catch opponents like the Eagles off their mojo.
Los Angeles Chargers
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers are in dire need of a fresh start in their receiving unit. This is why they drafted Tre Harris and KeAndre Lambert-Smith this past draft. With Quentin Johnston still struggling, Justin Herbert can only rely on 2024 draft pick Ladd McConkey, who had an excellent 2024 campaign and veteran Keenan Allen. Raymond won’t drastically change this offense, but it gives Jim Harbaugh’s offense another offensive piece to make an impact on the field.
Baltimore Ravens
However, the Baltimore Ravens have one of the league’s ferocious offensive weapons between Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. They only added more fire to the pit when they signed DeAndre Hopkins to a one-year deal. While the team is still in the market for a long-term and sustainable WR3 behind Flowers and Bateman, they could roll the dice on Raymond. He isn’t going to get most of the touches on the field, but he and Justice Hill could be a reliable duo in play-action passes for Lamar Jackson.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints traded for DeVaughn Vele and claimed Trey Palmer off waivers, but the team could continue to add more offensive firepower. Chris Olave wants to stay in New Orleans for the long term, but it might not happen due to the cap issues. Raymond could provide little relief in the background behind Rashid Shaheed and Brandin Cooks.
