As the Arizona Cardinals have too many moving pieces around the offense, they could put wide receiver Greg Dortch on the trade block during the 2025 regular season. Even though the team looks promising after extending tight end Trey McBride and having capable offensive weapons like Kyler Murray, James Conner and Marvin Harrison Jr., it could make Dortch expendable. He has some competition this upcoming campaign against running back DeeJay Dallas for the punt returning position, so if he winds up losing the spot, the chances of a trade. Originally selected as an undrafted rookie in 2019, the former Wake Forest product became a journeyman for the first two seasons in the league.
However, he found some new life in Arizona, where he’s been a valuable asset in not only the aerial attack, but returning the football. Dortch hasn’t been the most productive player on the field, and he seems replaceable when you have Dallas on the same roster. Despite giving him a new one-year deal, it doesn’t mean the team can’t trade him, as that’s always a conversation that could be brought up. The Cardinals haven’t been able to stay consistent these past few seasons under the Murray era, so if the team finds themselves out of the playoff picture, they could trade Dortch to get some draft capital in return.

Breaking: Surprise Cardinals Player Greg Dortch Could Be On Trade Block? – 4 Possible Destinations
Best Fits
Baltimore Ravens
If anyone has the same versatility, hands and size as Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman, it’s Greg Dortch. It wouldn’t be hard for him to find his footing in this offense, as Lamar Jackson knows how to utilize these types of abilities for a long time. Despite signing DeAndre Hopkins on a one-year deal, it wouldn’t hurt to add a potential bullet like Dortch to boost their chances in the postseason.
Los Angeles Chargers
Much like Lamar Jackson, quarterback Justin Herbert thrives better throwing football not only to the big men, but to slot receivers in short slant routes like 2024 draft pick Ladd McConkey. Dortch has similar speed and could team up in that same aspect and potentially make some noise in the aerial attack. He won’t be the top wideout on the roster, but it gives the Chargers another body to help Herbert push for a playoff spot.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints are in dire need of a fresh start, especially when you can’t afford to waste talented running back Alvin Kamara. The quarterback competition between Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler doesn’t give the Saints a ton of promise in who will likely be successful in Kellen Moore’s first year as head coach for this organization. Derek Carr was arguably their best signal-caller on the roster before retiring, so they must get all the hot weapons to give them a fighting chance. Dortch might not get all of the open looks in the world, but he could light up the field in certain moments to boost momentum.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers released Cordarrelle Patterson this offseason, so they’re on the hunt for another reliable punt returner. Even though they need a WR2 to help DK Metcalf, they can’t ignore this part of this unit. Dortch might shine brighter when he’s coached by one of the greats, Mike Tomlin.
