On Friday afternoon, the Baltimore Ravens activated Lamar Jackson off the COVID-19 list. The former MVP has missed the past few practice sessions because of his diagnosis.
Jackson might need a couple of days to completely knock off the rust, but Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said he was impressed with the dual-threat quarterback’s performance on Friday.
Harbaugh also told reporters that Jackson experienced symptoms while dealing with COVID-19 last week. Thankfully, Jackson is doing much better now.
“I thought he looked really good,” Harbaugh said. “I thought he looked better than I expected him to. COVID is tough. He had symptoms. He had a lot of symptoms. It speaks to how well he took care of himself during that time.”

Earlier this week, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan encouraged Jackson to get the COVID-19 vaccine. It’s unclear if that’ll happen at some point in the future.
“Lamar’s gotta get (vaccinated),” Hogan said. “With the rules the NFL put down, I can’t imagine a team wanting to forfeit a game or lose a chance at the playoffs and none of the players getting paid because someone won’t get a vaccine.”
With the 2021 season a month away, the Ravens are going to keep their fingers crossed that Jackson won’t miss any additional time because of another positive test or close contact.
