After months of speculation, the Baltimore Ravens were able to land Justin Houston on a one-year, $4 million contract. The edge rusher had a number of other suitors, but decided to put pen to paper with Baltimore and team up on defense with players like Marlon Humphrey and Calais Campbell.
Houston was asked about the truth of rumors that he had received better offers from other organizations but still chose the Ravens. He confirmed that it was indeed true, mentioning the Pittsburgh Steelers as a team that he almost signed with.

The fact that Houston chose Baltimore over other teams and signed with the team for less money shows how much he wanted to be with the Ravens. However, having Pittsburgh be a team that he singled out is the cherry on top, especially considering that Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster said that he turned down more money from Baltimore earlier in the offseason.
Houston was a big addition to the Ravens’ defense. It seems like he’s excited to be in Baltimore, and he should be able to thrive in a key role against the Ravens’ opponents, including Pittsburgh who they play twice.
