For the second day in a row, Lamar Jackson did not practice with the Baltimore Ravens due to a non-COVID related illness.
Jackson did not practice on Wednesday due to the undisclosed illness. The quarterback and MVP candidate was one of six Ravens to not work out today for various reasons.
Nose tackle Brandon Williams was out with a shoulder issue, while wide receivers Marquise Brown (thigh) and Rashod Bateman (unspecified) also were missing on offense.
ESPN’s Jamison Hensley says offensive tackle Alejandro Villanueva and linebacker Pernell McPhee likely sat out for veteran “rest” days.
Ravens had six players not practicing Thursday:
QB Lamar Jackson (illness)
WR Marquise Brown (thigh)
WR Rashod Bateman
NT Brandon Williams (shoulder)
OT Alejandro Villanueva (likely rest day)
OLB Pernell McPhee (likely rest day)— Jamison Hensley (@jamisonhensley) November 18, 2021
This isn’t the first time Jackson has missed multiple days in one game week due to illness. If his absence lingers into Friday, then it might be time to worry about him not playing this week.
Otherwise, there’s no reason to think he won’t make the trip to Chicago to face the Bears on Sunday.
