Latest On Potential Mark Andrews Trade

February 28, 2025 by NFL Trade Rumors

Ravens TE Mark Andrews‘ future with the team has been in question this offseason following a brutal end to their Divisional Round loss at Buffalo.

Mark Andrews

Days after the loss, Baltimore HC John Harbaugh called Andrews a “huge part” of their future while expressing his belief that Andrews is still among the league’s best players.

Per Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda, “there have been a lot of reports in the media swirling” that Baltimore might cut Andrews due to a pending extension for TE Isaiah Likely.

However, Pauline adds that “the principals involved” don’t think it will happen and Andrews will remain on the roster to start the season because of his contractual value to a contending team and their desire for continuity.

ESPN’s Jamison Hensley brings up Andrews’ $4 million roster bonus due March 17th which will likely speed up the decision. Hensley thinks they could approach Andrews about a pay cut but thinks “it would be surprising” for Baltimore to release the veteran tight end.

Because the Ravens could use some cap flexibility and draft capital, Hensley believes “it could be enticing” to trade Andrews because of his manageable $7 million salary in 2025.

Baltimore GM Eric DeCosta was noncommittal about Andrews and touched on the lack of cap flexibility while reflecting on how much Andrews has meant to their team.

“We don’t have a lot of cap room,” DeCosta said. “We have [vice president of football administration] Nick Matteo working tirelessly to find some space for us. We call it ‘couch cushion coins.’ We’re trying to find 50 grand here, 75 grand there and a couch cushion.”

“He’s been a blessing to have on the team,” DeCosta said.

Andrews, 29, was drafted by the Ravens in the third round out of Oklahoma in 2018. He was in the final year of a four-year, $3.6 million rookie deal and set to make a base salary of $920,000 for the 2021 season when he agreed to a four-year $56 million deal that included $37.586 million guaranteed.

In 2024, Andrews appeared in 17 games and recorded 55 receptions on 69 targets for 673 yards (12.2 YPC) and 11 touchdowns.

We’ll have more on Andrews as the news becomes available.
