Le’Veon Bell’s time in Baltimore is over. The veteran running back announced on Twitter that he has been released by the Ravens.
“This hurts, but it’s been a blessing to be here to say the least,” Bell wrote. “I’ve enjoyed every second of this short period & gotta whole new meaning of what this city is like & it’s a great place to be. I appreciate Eric Decasta & John Harbaugh for the opportunity to be called an Raven.”
Baltimore signed Bell right before the start of the regular season after a rash of injuries at the running back spot. The 29-year-old made minimal impact with the team though, appearing in only five games.
Bell carried the ball 31 times for 83 yards in those five contests, scoring a touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Chargers.

Ever since Bell sat out the 2018 season due to a contract dispute with the Pittsburgh Steelers, his career has taken a precipitous fall.
He started 15 games for the New York Jets in 2019 but was largely ineffective. New York released him after two games last fall, and Bell failed to distinguish himself in a brief stint with the Kansas City Chiefs.
It is fair to wonder how many more opportunities he’ll get at the NFL level.
